Keegan Searches for Worldclass Playmaker · Apr 7, 08:10 PM
Newcastle’s recent resurgence (unbeaten in four, winning three on the bounce) has led to some on Tyneside calling for owner Mike Ashley to splash the cash in the summer. A self made billionaire, Ashley is sure to want some big names playing at St. James’ next season to take the club to the next level.
While Manchester City and Chelsea have been linked with Ronaldinho, Newcastle have begun to investigate bringing Barcelona counterpart Deco to Newcastle. The 30 year old playmaker is seen as the ideal fit on Tyneside as Keegan seeks to shape the Newcastle squad into his own. Should Newcastle fail with a move for Deco, Sporting Lisbon star Moutinho would be next on Keegan’s shopping list.

Soccer Goal Machine Alan Shearer · Mar 16, 11:48 AM
When I meet fellow fans, players or coaches at different soccer parks and they know I’m a Geordie, the first thing that they generally normally talk about is Alan Shearer.
For me, Alan Shearer was the complete striker. Determined and driven, Shearer is the type of player you hate to play against, but love to have on your side. Still in any doubt? I’ll leave you with Alan Shearer’s top ten goals…

Newcastle United Linked with La Liga Coach · Mar 15, 04:18 PM
Many had expected Newcastle United’s fortunes to have changed for the better after Kevin Keegan’s appointment in mid January. Things however have not gone to plan as Keegan remains winless in his second managerial stint at St. James’.
Rumours coming out of various sports media today are suggesting that the Magpies have made discreet inquiries with Racing Santander coach Marcelino (not to be confused with the defender of the same name who wouldn’t play because of a sore pinky finger).
Coach Marcelino’s stock is rising rapidly in Spain. He has transformed Racing into top four contenders in La Liga and before that, he masterminded promotion to La Liga for Recreativo de Huelva.
Should Keegan’s stock go south, we may well end up with another Spanish coach in the Barclays Premier League.

Soccer Players Giving 100% Is Just Not Good Enough · Mar 4, 08:04 PM
It really gets on my nerves when I read about players giving 100% and how those type of players are just the type you need when you’re in a scrap.
Alan Smith, now playing for Newcastle after a six million pound transfer from Manchester United, has failed to score in 29 appearances – in the majority of those games he played up front. Then he comes out and issues a Newcastle United rallying cry.
As a Newcastle United fan I’ve heard it all before. Mainly from the likes of big name gobshite players who put in crappy performances time after time – Kieron Dyer, Craig Bellamy, I’m talking about you.
It’s all well and good spouting off to the press about fighting, but you’re only as good as your last game, and Newcastle’s performances have been nothing sort of shambolic recently. Alan Smith being one of the main culprits.

How Manchester Thrashing Newcastle is the Best Result of the Season for the Magpies · Jan 14, 08:36 PM
Make no mistake about it – this was a thrashing of the highest order. A thoroughly demoralizing defeat saw Newcastle walk off the field at Old Trafford beaten, outplayed and wondering what they must do to again challenge for a top six spot.
The next manager of Newcastle United must be given two things – time and support (from the chairman as well as the supporters). Last weekends result was a realization check for Geordies and Newcastle United fans worldwide. Only with a competent manager at the helm can the club regain its ‘Big Club’ status once more.
The six nil drubbing has certainly sunk Newcastle to a new low and this is where they must rebuild. Surely the potential manager whomever it will be, will know this. Newcastle have hit rock bottom and the only way is up.
Not all should be doom and gloom however. Newcastle’s owner Mike Ashley has built a Sports Clothing empire worth almost two-billion pounds. This from selling shirts from his bedroom. He’s a business man in all sense of the word and to make money, one must have a successful product. His business sense and ruthlessness in the boardroom is world-renowned. He knows what he wants and he wont quit until he gets it.
Geordies across the globe – stand tall, stand proud, stand fast. It’s going to be one heck of a ride.
