Several weeks ago I was invited by a coaching friend of mine to join his team and play indoor soccer for the summer season. I jumped at the chance. After a bad ankle injury at a coaching course, I hadn’t played semi-competitively for over a year so I always look forward to the opportunity of kicking a ball around. My injury (with an approximate six month lay-off) taught me that we’re fortunate to be able to play soccer so I hardly ever pass up an invite to watch or play.
