Shearer Set to Become Newcastle Manager

by admin on November 17, 2008

With D-Day looming at the end of this week for Newcastle United, there had to be a rabbit pulled out of the bag at some point – and here it is: Alan Shearer is cutting his ties as a pundit with the BBC’s Match of the Day, and is preparing to take over as Newcastle boss.

The following questions have to be asked:

  • Is he ready?
  • Is this just an appeasement measure by Mike Ashley to placate the fans?
  • Have the supposed new owners asked for Shearer by name?
  • Where does this leave Kinnear?

All will be revealed in the next couple of weeks, but it wouldn’t surprise me that come Monday morning, Alan Shearer will be at the St James’s Park helm as manager of Newcastle United.
