Barclays Premier League Transfer News

by admin on July 9, 2008

It seems that Aston Villa manager Martin O’Neil is planning for life after Gareth Barry. The Birmingham club have agreed a 5 million pound deal with Chelsea for midfielder Steve Sidwell subject to the player passing a medical. Sidwell caught the eye of Chelsea when helping Reading gain promotion to the Premier League two years ago. He rejected a contract with Reading and signed for Chelsea on a free transfer in 2007 (take note Frank Lampard).

Meanwhile the protracted move of Peter Crouch from Liverpool to Portsmouth was officially confirmed today as the beanpole striker agreed terms. First-team soccer was obviously on Crouch’s agenda and with Liverpool seemingly interested in signing Euro 2008 soccer star David Villa, Crouch was deemed surplus to requirements at Anfield.

IN THE NEXT SEASON, PLAYERS MUST BE VERY RELEVANT TO THE VISION AND CAMPAIGN OF THIER VARIOUS CLUBS SO IT IS INSTRUCTIVE THAT THERE MOVE, BUT IT WILL BE SAD TO SEE CROUCH THE LIVERPOOL BEAN POLE GO, CHELSEA WILL NOT CONCEDE TO A FOUR YEAR DEAL FOR LAMPARD BECAUSE HE WILL BE A SPENT FORCE IN A COUPLE OF YEARS.
